Circle Y Saddle – Is a Circle Y Saddle a Good Everyday Western Trail Saddle?
If you are in the market for a new saddle and are just looking for a great everyday saddle to use, you can’t go wrong with a Circle Y saddle. But come to think of it, even if you are looking for a show saddle, an endurance saddle, or even a synthetic saddle, Circle Y probably has what you are looking for.
There are many good saddle companies around and a lot of cheapo companies that you should avoid at all costs. Even if you don’t have a lot of money to spend on a saddle, avoid the cheapo companies. All you’ll get is cheap junk. Best thing to do in this case is look for a nice used saddle of a respected brand name.
But back to the matter at hand, Circle Y. Whether you would like a Flex Tree, a Flex Lite, a round skirt, a square skirt, wide or regular tree, all decked out or simple, Softee leather, or anything else in between, you can find a Circle Y saddle to fit the bill. Even if you need a saddle for a gaited horse, you can find that as well.
Circle Y is a very respected company that has been around for some time, so you won’t have to worry that this is one of those fly-by-night companies that will not be around to address your concerns should you have any.
Now which saddle is best? Well it depends what you want to use it for. The Circle Y Flex Lite Trail Saddle is one of the most popular Circle Y saddles for trail riders. They are beautiful saddles and you could even take your horse into the show ring if you wanted to. I will let you know right now I am not one to show, I simply love to trail ride my horse, but I have shown in the past and I would not hesitate to put this saddle on my horse and being him into the ring. It’s also a really comfortable saddle, which is paramount to me. I don’t want an uncomfortable saddle no matter how light it is and no matter how pretty it is. There is extra padding on the seat and multiple strings to tie down your trail gear.
The Circle Y Flex2 Softee is another really nice saddle from this company. I never hear anything bad about this saddle, and people seem to really love the soft leather. It’s fairly lightweight too, only about 26 pounds.
The Park and Ride is also quite popular and certainly beautiful enough to take on the trail or into the show ring. It is a little heavier at around 32 pounds. As far as I am concerned, the lighter the better.
So if you are thinking of a Circle Y saddle, there are plenty to choose from no matter whether you are an endurance rider, a western pleasure show rider, or just simply a trail rider who loves to head down the trails (that’s me).
